The Little Rock IntegrationThe Little Rock integration started around September of 1957. The Nine suffered repeated harassment at central high from segregationists outside and inside of the school. President Eisenhower sent 101st Airborne soldiers to protect the students after several mob attacks on the first few weeks of integration. After the 101st Airborne soldiers left the school in November 1957 segregationist students intensified their efforts to compel the Nine to leave Central. The nine students were Ernest Green, Elizabeth Eckford, Jefferson Thomas, Terrence Roberts, Carlotta Walls LaNier, Minnijean Brown, Gloria Ray Karlmark, Thelma Mothershed, and Melba Pattillo Beals.
